Mind the Gap and Make a Difference
If you’ve ever travelled to London, the iconic phrase, “Mind the Gap”, is something you’ve likely heard dozens of times as you ride “the underground.”
The automated warning is heard thousands of times each day at every stop of the subway. The gap is significant and if the rider isn’t paying attention, they risk being harmed. The audio recording and painted words on the ground serve as the best option to solve the problem.
When faced with a challenge—a gap that needs to be filled—the concept of “minding the gap” works for organizations as well. At MCS we have identified such a gap and we’re inviting you to be part of the solution.
We have identified a $500 per student “gap” between what it costs to educate a student on campus and what we raise through tuition and donations on an annual basis. We are looking for donors (churches, businesses, or individuals) who would “MIND THE GAP and MAKE A DIFFERENCE.” Your donation invests in students while they study at MCS, specifically in the areas of scholarships, academics (in and out of classroom experiences), and student life initiatives (mental health and wellness centre, counselling, and pastoral care).
Would you consider a gift this year that would cover one of these gaps?

Donate Securities
A donation of securities or mutual funds is the most efficient way to give charitably. Since capital gains taxes don’t apply, our charity receives the full fair market value when the security is sold, and you get a tax receipt which reflects your larger contribution. This allows you to give more and get more.

Legacy Investments
Create a Scholarship
Every year during a special awards chapel in the Fall and Winter semesters and at grad, MCSs students are presented with awards and scholarships made possible through the generosity of individual donors and churches.
Donors set the eligibility criteria, which our Awards Committee uses to select the recipients. It’s an exciting moment in the lives of our students to receive these awards and be honoured for their character and achievements.
Awards and scholarships are a wonderful way to honour the memory of a loved one, to provide a monetary gift to students from a specific cohort (e.g., a geographic area or underserved population), or to honour a particular gifting or interest (e.g., demonstrated leadership skills; church planting; missional outreach, research and writing skills, etc.)
Church Partners
We love partnering with local churches—it allows us to connect with potential students while also serving our churches in various ways!
Request a Speaker
Planning your next Sunday teaching series? Mid-week adult program? Retreat? Specialized training? Consider inviting a member of our MCS faculty to serve your church in a teaching/speaking capacity.
Become an Internship Church
Each year, MCS (in partnership with our supporting district offices) places our B.Th., Diploma and BRE students into the care of pastor/mentors who will guide them through an integrated internship—a highlight of our students’ academic journey. B.Th. students have 15-week placements in the winter semester; BRE and Diploma students have 10 or 8-week internships during the summer semester. If you have expertise in pastoral, youth, children’s, worship and creative arts or cultural ministries, consider applying to become an internship church.
Sponsor Your Student
Do you have a student at your church who is thinking about applying to study at MCS? Designate up to $500 to a newly admitted student and the college will match your donation, up to an additional $500. Some conditions apply.
