MCS Update – January 2024

From the Alumni Association

Hello Again,

By now you must think I am easily excitable, but when it comes to the Kingdom of God moving forward, I absolutely am ecstatic.Transition and change can be difficult and that is certainly true of this season. However there is al to of work that is being done to secure a bright hope and future for the training of pentecostal leaders across central and Eastern Canada. In this next update, you will hear once again from our Board Chair, Jason Small, about the next season of leaders who will be serving at MCS.

With sincerity on behalf of the MCS Alumni Association Executive Team,

MCS Staff Update

Dear Friends,

Christmas 2023 has come and gone and a new year full of opportunity has begun. A lot of changes have taken place at MCS over the month of December and into early January. We wanted to update you about our key staff transitions.

Executive Vice President

It has been over a year and half that MCS has been without a Vice President following Linda Gibson’s retirement. We are delighted to announce that Rev. Dr. Todd Manuel has been appointed to this position and will begin to serve in this capacity in February 2024. This is exciting news for MCS. Todd brings excellent pastoral, educational, and leadership skills to this position. He has almost 40 years of pastoral experience, has taught multiple courses as an adjunct professor, has served as a section pastor and has served on many PAOC committees and leadership teams. Master’s is about to become the beneficiary of his gifts and expertise. We thank God for leading Todd and MCS to this moment of working together for the future of Master’s College and Seminary.

Luciano Lombardi
Director Lombardi

After 21 years with MCS, Luciano (Luc) Lombardi has accepted a position with Western Ontario District and therefore his ministry with MCS will come to an end early in the new year. Luc has served MCS with excellence over the past two decades. Luc will continue to be involved as adjunct faculty as he begins to serve in WOD. Luc writes:

“It is with mixed emotions that I submit my notice of resignation from my position as Interim Director of Operations; Director of Leadership Development as well as Director of Distance Education for Master’s College & Seminary…By far, the most rewarding part of my time at MCS was the time spent with students in the classroom. It was my greatest privilege to introduce them to the intricacies and depths of theology, along with helping foster a deep love for God…”

We thank Luc for his years of faithful service and wish him all the best in this new venture.

We are so happy for both Todd and Luc as they begin their new roles. Please pray for both of them during this time of transition.

Blessings,

J Small Rev. Jason D. Small, Chair of the Board
